日本語1st Momotaro Koishow - 2008
Have just arrived back from the Momotaro Koishow. This was a show for Jumbo Tosai bought at the last Spring auction back in May this year.
About 50 people turned out for the show, which took place at Maeda San's (Momotaro Koi's owner) car restoration company, Old Boy. About sixty fish were entered into the show, 20 of each, Kohaku, Sanke and Showa.
The Grand Champion, 2nd and 3rd place, and also best in variety were chosen by special guest, Kiyoshi Maekawa. Those of you not familiar with him may be interested to know he is a very famous singer who often appears on television in Japan, and of course a Koi lover! Special awards were also chosen by three members of the Isezaki family, the Father Mitsuru Isesaki is the National Living Treasure in Japan for making Bizenyaki (Traditional Japanese Pottery). Prizes for the competition were kindly provided by Mr. Isezaki and his two sons, who were also present.
